Microwave Oven Reviews--Sharp R-216LS

Continuing with our reviews of microwave ovens, we have another microwave from Sharp, following up on our review of the Sharp R-305KS. Our review this time around is for the Sharp R-216LS microwave oven. Unlike the R-305KS, which is a whole cubic foot, the R-216LS is only 0.8 cubic foot. However, the little brother of the R-305KS performs well, though there is room for improvement.

This microwave oven comes in at a price of $79.99 and free shipping from Amazon. The price makes it a good microwave for someone who wants more features than the bottom-line microwave ovens, but who doesn't want to pay top-shelf prices. However, despite the low price, the R-216LS still has a number of good features.

This microwave ovens has several features you would want from a microwave. You get a popcorn setting, four defrost settings, six reheat settings, and four cook settings. Plus the microwave comes with a handy "minute plus" button that saves time for quick reheating.

There are a few problems with this model, however. One big problem is the lack of interior lighting. There are also reports that the numbers stop working after time, however this seems to be isolated incidents. This microwave is good for small spaces where there is a desire to reheat foods and drinks, however this may not be the best microwave oven for cooking foods.
